• FORT LIBERTY, N.C.
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) marked a milestone in its mission to deliver the taste of home here with the late 2024 addition of a Chipotle Mexican Grill at the Glider Express, the first Chipotle on Fort Liberty and third in the Exchange portfolio.
The fast-casual restaurant’s opening represents the Exchange’s commitment to support the health and well-being of service members and their families.
“The Fort Liberty Exchange’s collaboration with Chipotle marks an important milestone in the development of our community,” said General Manager (GM) Thomas “TK” Kuttamperoor during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Besides a bite to eat, the restaurant provides job seekers with an opportunity, a convenient option for parents deciding dinner and a space for friends to get together,” he said.
The Exchange previously opened its first Chipotle Mexican Grill sites at two military bases in Texas: in 2016 at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, and its second at the Clear Creek Exchange Shopping Center at Fort Cavazos.
BETTER-FOR-YOU OPTIONS
Chipotle Mexican Grill offers Better-For-You (BFY) options including burritos, rice bowls, tacos and other choices that are aligned with the BE FIT 360 initiative — a program supporting the healthy lifestyles of service members.
Chipotle’s menu features low-calorie, low-carb, high-protein items, including vegetarian, vegan and keto-friendly meals.
Located in the heart of the 82nd Airborne Division training area, the Chipotle at Glider Express, Building C, 8031 Grave St., is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
