AAFES Opens Micro Market

• RAF MILDENHALL, England

Opening for business on May 18, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s (AAFES) new Micro Market — operating in the base’s dorms — helps to improve morale for the Airmen stationed here, and demonstrates the installation’s commitment to continuous infrastructure improvement.

Senior Airman Krista Crosby, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron structural journeyman, was among those service members who helped lead the initiative to have such a facility on base.

The Micro Market is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for Airmen, allowing them to access food and essential items at any time.

Officials who participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony included U.S. Air Force Col. Steven Byrum, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, and Shyrose Mitha, wingman market director.
