ALA New York Chapter Board Praises Contributors To Scholarship Fund

• NEW YORK

The New York Chapter of the American Logistics Association (ALA) board praised supporters of the recent Military Commanders’ Scholarship Fund Holiday Luncheon for their participation.

They reported that this event, “with the help of generous support from so many of you,” raised more than $30,000 for the fund.

All proceeds benefit the fund, which provides scholarships for dependents of active duty, reserve, National Guard, and retired members of the military branches.

“Less than 1 percent of our nation’s citizens serve to protect our country, and we believe there is no better way to honor these heroes than to help their children on their college journey,” the board said, lauding participants, thanking them for their support “whether in person or in spirit!”

“We greatly appreciate your financial contributions, raffle ticket purchases, and donations of such fabulous prizes,” they noted.

GUEST SPEAKER

Eric Sidman, executive vice president/chief merchandising officer (EVP/CMO) of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), was the event’s guest speaker, “and he gave us a true insight into the current state of business and a bright future ahead,” the board noted.
