2021 was a challenging year from several perspectives including supply chain, consumer choice, Federal policy, and marketplace challenges. 2022 will present even more challenges and opportunities. Industry and defense experts will be converging on Petersburg Va. to discuss these challenges and more. Attendees will include decision makers from the military headquarters and operational levels and a wide range of industry folks from across the food service spectrum. The program will allow networking and discussion an emerging wide range of topics related to this marketplace.
We’ll be covering all things food service at this meeting, including government services and agency procedures for product decisions. Additionally, identifying the process to assess products which appeal to the 18-30-year-old customers on nutritional guidelines. Buyers’ Guide product specifications provide for product consideration/decisions meeting readiness and resilience of the Warfighter. Industry provides the Government with how the Supply Line functions, cause and effect of distribution, both to industry and producers, as well as how these products are delivered. The areas that affect these processes are raw ingredient availability, container availability, trucking, labor, and inflation driving costs higher, based on availability and demand.
The Food Expo provides the 1st Vendor demonstration of products, in person, in many years. These vendors are demonstrating new and innovative products based on the latest dining trends. New plant-based products, Omega-3 products and other industry innovations which appeal to the 18-30-year-old diner.
