MCCS Spring Retail Leadership Meeting Launches Strategic Priorities

• MCB QUANTICO, Va.

From April 14-16, the Marine Corps Community Service’s (MCCS) annual Spring Retail Leadership Meeting launched both strategic priorities for the year ahead and cited those that excelled at high performance levels during the past year.

Each year, MCCS hosts two enterprise-wide retail leadership gatherings: a spring meeting to launch strategic priorities for the year ahead, and a fall meeting to prepare for the holiday season.

The Spring Retail Leadership Meeting provided leaders with opportunities to align on enterprise strategy, share best practices, and strengthen the network of professionals who support MCCS’s mission: enhancing the readiness, resilience, and quality of life for Marines and their families.

SHARED COMMITMENT

“Bringing retail leaders together in person strengthens more than strategy — it builds alignment, trust and shared commitment to those we have the privilege to serve,” said Jennifer Wible, MR chief operations officer (COO) of the Business and Support Services Division (MR).

“By focusing on clear communication, exceptional customer experience, and collaboration across the MCX enterprise, we create the conditions for true operational excellence that directly benefits our Marine Corps and military community,” she noted.

This year’s event saw exceptional participation across the entire Business Operations Team, thanks in part to Quantico’s central location and the ability to bring together field leaders, headquarters staff, and cross-functional partners.

The result was one of the most collaborative and high engagement spring meetings to date. “The level of engagement across our teams was exceptional, reflecting a high degree of commitment, energy, and shared purpose,” said Trevor Faria, MR’s branch head for Field Operations.

“This strong collaboration enabled seamless execution and played a critical role in the overall success of this year’s event,” he noted.

AWARD WINNER

The spring meeting also serves as the moment when MCCS recognizes outstanding performance across key retail key performance indicators (KPI) from the previous year.

The command with the strongest overall results receives the coveted Spirit & Pride Award, symbolized by a glass eagle trophy representing excellence, teamwork, and Marine Corps pride.

At the latest spring meeting, the Business and Support Services Division (MR) cited the MCCS Miramar, Calif., team as the winner of the 2025 Spirit & Pride Award, marking their second consecutive year earning the organization’s highest retail performance honor.

MCCS Miramar’s back-to-back wins reflect sustained excellence across retail operations, customer experience, merchandising execution, and year-over-year performance.

Their achievement underscores the command’s commitment to delivering high-quality service to Marines, Sailors, and families — while embodying the spirit of innovation and pride that the award represents. “Winning this award two years in a row is an incredible honor, it’s areflection of a team that cares deeply about our Marines and their families,” said Arturo Ramirez, store manager of MCX Miramar.

“We want every member who serves our country to feel the pride the moment they walk through our doors,” he stated. “This win belongs to our associates who show up every day to make that happen.” As MCCS looks ahead to the rest of 2026, the Miramar team’s achievement sets a high bar for operational excellence and reinforces the impact that dedicated, mission-driven teams can have across the Marine Corps community.
