NEXCOM Opens Another Micro-Market

• NS GREAT LAKES, Ill.

On Jan. 18, the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) opened another one of its Micro-Market concept sites, here at the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) location on base.

NGIS is one of the six business lines overseen by NEXCOM, with this component falling under its Hospitality Group aegis. This retail site is the 90th of these type of outlets that the Navy Exchange has opened during the past few years.

The Micro-Market, which is located on the first floor of NGIS Great Lakes, is a self-serve facility which is designed to help make life a little easier for Sailors staying at NGIS Great Lakes or students living in the nearby barracks.

The small convenience store is open 24/7 and carries a variety of small meals, snacks, salads and beverages.
