NEXCOM Welcomes Military Resale Alliance Members To Its Headquarters

• VIRGINIA BEACH

On July 28, the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) welcomed leaders from the Military Resale Alliance here to its headquarters.
Representatives from NEXCOM, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Coast Guard Community Services Command (CGCSC), Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and the office of the deputy assistant secretary of War for Military Community and Family Policy (DASW, MC&FP) gathered to review progress and establish priorities for the coming year.
Since 2019, Military Resale Alliance initiatives have generated more than $300 million in combined financial impact through improvements in the cost of goods and enhanced direct patron savings.
“What makes this alliance work is the willingness of each organization to share its expertise, address common challenges and translate collaboration into greater value for our patrons,” said Meredith Jackson, vice president (VP), senior general merchandise manager (GMM), NEXCOM.

MEETING AGENDA

During the meeting, these leaders discussed a variety of topics including shared private brands; nutritional readiness; sports nutrition and dietary supplements; food; services and fuel initiatives; joint vendor engagement; military community programs and the Military Star Card.
“Military resale is an integrated benefit that supports service members and their families through food, fuel, merchandise, services, and everyday savings,” said Scott Peabody, program analyst for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) and Resale Policy, DASW, MC&FP.
“By aligning our policies, expertise, and resources, we can strengthen that benefit, enhance readiness and deliver greater value to the military community,” he noted.
