Pizza Chain Planning New Military Location

• BETHESDA, Md.

Little Caesars is planning to open a new location here at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as part of the pizza chain’s expansion across U.S. military installations.

The Bethesda restaurant is among several new Little Caesars locations planned for Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) installations nationwide.

Development of the Walter Reed location is being led by BAXIMUS, a restaurant operating company founded by Phil Thomas and Kris Wellmaker. The company operates multiple restaurant concepts on military installations across the country.

“Our goal has always been to bring quality restaurant experiences to military communities,” Wellmaker said. “Little Caesars stood out because of its reputation for quality, value, and convenience.”

BAXIMUS recently introduced a Little Caesars food truck to serve military events and installations where traditional dining options may be limited. The company is also leading the chain’s expansion at NB San Diego, Calif.

The company has not yet announced an opening date or exact location within the Walter Reed campus.

EXPANDING CHAIN

The expansion follows Little Caesars’ first military base restaurant, which opened at NB Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 2025.

Other planned locations include NS Mayport, Fla., and two California locations, NCBC Port Hueneme and NAS Lemoore.
